The Expanded Universe ? aka the Lore and entire World as depicted in comics, books, games and other media ? was deemed to be too robust, too contradictory, too inconsistent, too ?old? (aka things have been added to it since forever)? So, only the 6 movies ... Still though ? it's amusing how some people suddenly turned all anti-Star Wars and think of EU as some crappy shit and new, glorious Disney stuff as the best thing that could possibly happen to Star Wars. Truly laughable.
